First Visit to the Dentist.

Today Febuary 4,2010, marks the first day that Jacob went to the the dentist ever. I was worried that he wasn't going to be good and not let them clean his teeth. wow was I surprised how well Jacob did. He now has 20 teeth and has a really cool marker toothbrush, a new container of playdough, stickers, and new flossers. He was VERY well behaved and was an excellent patient. I was proud when the dentist told me that Jacob has really nice teeth. My baby has NO cavities! I wanted to get pictures of him and the dentist but while he was getting his teeth cleaned, I was getting mine done as well. I can't believe Jacob is already three and has twenty teeth. I remember when we found his very first tooth.

Jacob's New Favorite Game

Jacob got his first board game this Saturday from his Nanie, [Angelica's Mom Becky) So far he has played it at least four times a day with Jeff and I and many times by him self. I realize why preschoolers love it and why teachers do to. I've noticed that his counting ability has gotten much better. Thank you very much Becky!

I found out what the rash was on Jacob

Well today I took Jacob to the doctors for his exam for wic and asked the doctor about this rash that Jacob has had on his back for about a month. Well I found out that Jacob has shingles. I feel so bad because everytime I tried to put chlothes on him he would have a fit. Well now I know why he has been acting the way he has.The doctor said that he will be contagious for the next three to four days.

Potty training

Well I've decided that it is time for Jacob to learn to go potty like a big boy. He already knows how to use the toilet for number one and two, But I want it to happen all the time. I told Jacob if he does learn how to go all the time, then he will get to wear big boy Elmo underwear. It so far has been going OK. For the past few days, almost every time I take him to the toilet, he will go number one. I just think that with time he will get better and better. I know this will be a little hard, but all I have to remember is that sometimes you can't learn something in just one day.

I am One Happy Mommy!

Last Night the coolest thing happened, JACOB WENT PEE-PEE IN THE POTTY FOR THE FIRST TIME!!!!! I know that some people would be raising an eyebrow at me, but it was very unexpected. I was giving him a bath and daddy came in to use the bathroom. When he was done Jacob got out of the tub and said "Daddy, look". He then said pee, and I put him up on the toilet and after a minute of trying, Jacob peed! I was jumping up and down clapping so hard and singing on the top of my lungs, " Jacob pee-peed in the potty" now that I think about it, I find it quite humorous. I NEVER in my life ever thought I would be this excited about someone peeing in a toilet! The wonderful joys of being a mother!

A Trip to the Library

Today was a sunny but chilly day. When Jacob woke up, I felt as if he should get some fresh air. I asked him if he would like to go for a walk. He ran over to the door and tried to open it while saying " walk walk." So then I knew. We went to the library and Jacob loved it. He played with their neat puppets, a puzzle book and the little chairs. The nice thing was Jacob and I where the only people down in the children's section and so he got to explore. I was really surprised about how much different toys they had at the library. When we came home, Jacob was pooped, So I was happy, he took a long nap.

Kitty the raccoon

Last Saturday Jacob went to the store with Daddy and while they where walking down the toy section, something caught Jacob's eye. Jacob grabbed it off the self and gave it a hug. When Jeff saw what it was , he started to laugh, Jacob was calling it a Kitty when it really was a stuffed raccoon. So after the whole ride through the store and hugging his "kitty' around, Jeff got it for Jacob. I just hope Jacob doesn't find a real raccoon and ask me to keep the Kitty, while carrying in a big raccoon.
So now we have a raccoon named Kitty.

Hard Week

This week has been one exhausting week! Jacob has another fever and all week it has been really hard to get him to eat anything. I thought yesterday we were in the clear when he actually ate some breakfast. Today he woke up and was very fussy. I took his temp and I knew it , he has a temp. I sure hope he feels better soon. I feel so bad because I feel like there is nothing I can do to make him feel better. Every time Jeff leaves for work, Jacob screams for Daddy. Luckily he has been drinking some juice and water. His cold is to the point of him coughing for like a minute until he stops. I just hope he will cough all of that gunk up and our little ray of sunshine gets better.

Today I found Jacob so busy on the computer typing away, I wondered if Bill Gates was this young when he started too.

Our Little Cuddle Bug

All week, the cold bug took over our house. Jacob has been very cuddly and I really enjoyed it. Jeff and I took turns with Jacob, and I got some cute pics. Jacob didn't want his grandpa and uncles to leave all week. He wanted them all to stay to cuddle with him. So this week's nickname for Jacob is our little cuddle bug.

Jeff Wasn't feeling good to so Jacob was trying to make his daddy feel better.

Jacob's First Fever

Today turned out to be a very cuddly day for Jacob. I thought that he was very cuddly because we are weaning him from his binky. Then I was over at my friend Jen's house when Jeff called me, he couldn't find the thermometer and said Jacob
felt like he was burning up. I came home and found the thermometer. When we took it , it was 101.2. I gave him some Motrin, and it went down. I just hope that his fever doesn't go higher. We decided when he feels better, we will try to wean him again. So let today be a day that goes down in his baby book for the first fever in his life. The first of many.

Learning how to Dress.

Jacob is getting to smart for his own good. As Jeff and I where in the living room, Jacob went into
the kitchen and when he returned, I don't know how but, he took all of his clothes off but his underware and socks.


Then later after we put his pj's on he got ahold of his shirt and tried to put that on.
It was so cute. He walked around the house for a while with it on just like that.

Snow Day

Well today was so beautiful that I decided that Jacob needed some fresh air and he needed to try out his new snow pants. We asked our neighbor kids if they would like to join us for a fun day. Owen Age 5 And Allisa age 3 , both came out to join in. We had fun, trying to build a snowman, sliding and running around. Jacob liked to try to eat the snow the best. 
I tried to put his sunglasses on, but he refused.

A Basket Case

As Jacob and I were playing, Jacob got the laundry basket down on the floor and started to have some fun. He thought it was the coolest thing to put his whole little body under the basket and try to hide from me. It was so cute that I had to get the camera. These are the kind of pictures I am going to show his girlfriends some day.

Jacob is learnig how to use the railing andlost his balance and rolled down the steps. I felt helpless cause it happened so fast that by the time I ran to him, he was at the bottom. He seemed ok, just a big goosebump on his head,  and a little red spot under his eye. I'll tell you,that kid has no fear.
The rest of the day, I kept a close eye on him and it didn't even fase him. After I got home from bible study he was awake from his nap and didn't eat his dinner so I told him if he did then he would get some dessert, well like magic, his dinner dissapeared. I had to get some pics of him. he got icing all over his face but still looked very handsome. If you look closely, you can see his goosebump.

Eating Pizza in Comfort

 
Jacob decided to eat his pizza in a new way last night, 
he came into the living room and 
climbed into the laundry basket and just sat 
there and ate his pizza. By the time Jeff got the camera out,
the basket fell over, 
but Jacob didn't mind.
