Reflecting Through the Cycles of Life.

Lately , I've been thinking about the four seasons of weather. I have been reflecting on how each one effects us differently. Take right now for instance, it is in the middle of winter and I am couped up in the house going stir crazy ,while my three year old runs around like a maniac. I think to my self, I can't wait for summer, that way we can get out of the house and play outside and take Jacob swimming and down to the park.
Then I reflect on spring. Spring comes and I am so excited to see the longer days and the snow melt.I get excited to see little flowers pop their delicate heads through the snow. While spring is here, I think of the muddy sidewalks and driveways, and hope I don't have to push a stuck car out of the mud in my Sunday clothes. I don't know if it really is going to stay warm  Will we get another snow storm that is going to kill those cute little flowers. When the trees finally show the bright lime green that is so fresh, all I want , is for it to never end. As soon as I start to notice it , it is gone.

Summer comes around staring out chilly , I wish it could be warmer. As the days roll by, the sunburns and bee stings and humid weather remind me why I don't really like summer. Just when I am starting to get use to the warm weather and all that it has to offer.

It begins to change as it gets windier and the trees change color. I love the crisp smell of the air and the sound of rustling leaves as I walk but as the days get colder, I want summer back.

The first day it snows, I am excited to see it. To remember long winter days fill of making crafts and holidays and family time together. It only seems as if the first few times it snows it is neat . Then after two months of constant snow, I want it to be warmer.
As I reflect how all of the seasons and how they make me feel, I am learning that life is full of memories in these four seasons, and as the seasons pass I grow older and my life continues on. Jacob is three and growing to fast. I need to enjoy the excuse he gives me to enjoy each season as a child enjoys them for what they are.If you see a grown woman going sled riding with out a child, it seems kinda freaky. But Jacob is the best way I can still have fun like a child but grownup, (adult supervision). When I am old with white hair and can't bend down without my hips popping, I want to look back on the different seasons of my life and remember all the wonderful moments that each of them held. So now instead of looking forward to the next season, I am going to look toward the here and now and think, what kind of fun can I have today with my baby.

Sometimes It Is The Player and Not The Instrument.

The other day, I was so excited, I got new sheet music for my flute. I was really excited to play cause I haven't been able to play for a while ,because I got my wisdom teeth out. Well I warmed up fine and when I went to play ,it sounded as if my flute couldn't make the high notes correctly. I checked over my flute at least twenty times and couldn't put my finger on what the problem was.
I began to think about anything that could of happened to my flute since I've played it last. I had nothing, then I thought what is the difference between than and now. I then realized that I was two teeth less and to play the higher notes I had to press in my cheeks harder cause there were no teeth back there. Once I did that my flute played perfectly. So I realized that sometimes it is not the object that has the problem but the handler. Boy did I feel like a ditz.

The Feeling of Spring.

I know that it is only February, but I have a boost of knowing spring is on the way. In the apartment where I live, in the summer, the sun constantly pours through my windows. In the morning, it pours through my east windows and in the evening , the sun pours through my west windows. The only drawback is when we want to watch TV in the evening and can't cause we get blinded. For the past two days I have woken up to come down stairs and get blinded with sun in my kitchen. So I know spring is on the way. I am happy cause two words, LILAC SEASON.

My Two Upper Wisdom Teeth are No more!

Today I got my wisdom teeth pulled! I did it. I was so scared and terrified that it was going to hurt really bad. Well the Dentist was VERY nice and explained everything that was happening. I couldn't believe that after about ten minutes, the dentidt looked at me and said that I was all done! I couldn't believe how quick it took him to get them out. I had a numb mouth for half the day and have been putting ice on it since the novacane wore off. So only one or two more days of soft foods and then I can eat normally again.

You can learn Someting New every day!

Today I was at Grandma Mooney's house and Julie and Grandma and I where talking about age. Then they where talking about how when people get old sometimes they get crotchety. Dad said he is just a crotchety old man. I said no your not. I then said "Isnt that when people smell like there crotch?'" Grandma, Julie and Dad all started to laugh so hard that Julie turned purple. Grandma then explained that Crotchety meant cranky. Boy did I feel about ten inches tall. It is surprising how you can learn something new everyday!

I wish all of this pain would go Away

For the last six months I have been having pain in my lower abdomin. I so far had had, two sonograms, a cat scan and an emergency room visit. They said the reason why I am in so much pain lately is because I have ovarian cysts that are bursting inside of me. Today I went again to see the doctor. In two weeks they are going to give me another sonogram. They want to maybe do a laproscope to see if I have endometreosis. The doctor also thinks I have a GI problem too. When I went to the Emergency room they told me to take pain killers for the pain, well the pain killers don't even help.
When the doctor pushed down on my abdomen today it hurt so bad I was crying and eversince the pain has not gone away. Jacob is so active and wants to run and play but all I can do is watch from the sidelines. It hurts when I walk, stand for long periods of time, or go up the stairs.I just want all the pain to stop and so I can take Jacob to the park and Clean my house with out any repercussions.
I will try to keep you updated as I find out more from the doctors and the test they run on me.

I am having fun making it though, and my house smells really good. I can't wait for the finished product! I will let you all know how it turns out. Don't worry Pastor, I will bring your family some.

What has Been Happing with The Mooney Gang

This past week has been such an roller coaster of emotions. I just want to thank everyone that has been praying for our family and for Grandpa. For the past two and half months, our family was so blessed with a wonderful cousin and friend named Lisa. Lisa is Grandma Mooney niece and she is a Nurse for the ICU at Hamot. She has helped us out but talking to the doctors and translating what he was saying. She has helped all of us to understand the procedures and Grandpa's condition. I know that without her, The doctors would of gave up on grandpa a long time ago. Thank you so very much Lisa for everything you did.

On Sunday night, I had this fabric that my brother in law Nathan gave me and I really wanted to make a pillow for Grandpa out of. Well I finally got it done. At the viewing, I got all of the immediate family to sign it. I'm so glad I finally got to make it for Grandpa, I know he would of liked it.

The funereal was very sad but beautiful, at the end, they played Grandma and Grandpa singing and Grandpa playing the guitar. Jacob heard Grandpa's voice and said Papa. It was really cute. As we were leaving the funeral home, Dad , Jeff and I where talking about how Grandpa would want to make it a long procession. Right then, a train came and stopped the Whole procession for about five minutes. We all knew that was Grandpa trying to make us laugh. It worked. At the cemetery, they had a military service and it was beautiful. When Jacob walked back to the car he kept saying bye bye Papa.

After the funeral, the church had a very nice dinner for us. Thank you Keepville church so very much. At the dinner I got to get some pics of Grandma and her sisters, Diana, Doris and her brother Arthur.

After the dinner , I went with my mom to Walmart to get some food, after shopping and getting in the car, my mom called my sister so I could talk to her. I told Julie about everything that happened, and started to cry. Then Julie told me that Grandpa will be happy. I then asked her why, She then told me that Jacob is going to have a cousin. MY SISTER IS GOING TO HAVE A BABY!!!!!!!!! I'm going to be an aunt. I am so happy. The coolest thing is she is due on my husbands Birthday. man that news really was a good thing to hear, well that was my week in a nut shell.

Strep Throat

Today I woke up with a bad sore throat and thought, oh boy, I'm getting another cold. Well as the day went on, I felt worse, I thought it was from walking down town. When Jeff woke up I told him about my throat and he said that it sounds like I am getting strep throat. Destiny, My brother in laws girlfriend has it and that is how it started with her. I wasn't sure what it was but I got strep throat a lot when I was a teen so now I just want to find a babysitter for Jacob, so he doesn't get it and crawl into a hole until I clear up. The thing is that I was going to go to Bible study, but it got cancelled. So I think God wanted me to rest instead. My pastor's wife and son are sick in bed. I sure hope they don't have strep. Well to everyone that reads this, MAKE SURE TO WASH YOUR HANDS AND DON"T DRINK OFF OF OTHERS CUPS, even if it is a whole can of pop that you have to throw out.

A Wonderful time with Heather And Owen

Tonight I had such an enjoyable evening with my good friend Heather and her son Owen. We went to the diner in Springfield and I got the chef's salad. I love those things so much, I still can't believe I ate the whole thing! We went to Pleasant Ridge to visit the residents and I loved every minute of it. Owen as some remember was my ring baerer and Heather and I where in Marching Band together and went to Northwestern together. . Thank you Heather for such a wonderful time.

house Cleaning part 2

I have decided that if I want Jacob to clean up after himself, then I have to be persistent and patient. Today before nap time, I started to clean up toys and told Jacob that if we like toys and want to keep them then we need to take care of them and clean up. I started to sing and make it look really fun. To my surprise Jacob started to put toys in his bin. I gave him so much praise that he thought it was the coolest thing. Tonight, before bedtime I did the same thing and I think that maybe after a week or so, he will catch on , hopefully. Motherhood is teaching me how to be persistent and try and try again. Oh speaking about being patient, we are going to try once again to ween Jacob off the Binky this weekend. So to all of my neighbors, I hope you will be able to get some sleep, if not I have some earplugs I can give you.

House Cleaning

I love to clean, but if you walk into my house on a typacal day, it sure doesn't look like it. I know that some people have a spotless house and keep it gleaming all the time. One of my good friends told me that the only time her house is clean is at nap time and bed time. She has FOUR kids. I think I am learnig the reason why moms are so tired all the time and sometimes give up. The nice thing is Jacob is learning how to clean, I only wish he would learn to clean up his toys. He helps me by placing the dust pan down while holding it and I sweep the dirt into it then he will take it over to the trash can and empty it out. It is kinda cool. So I am just warning everyone now, If you come over to my house , Please call me an hour before hand so then I can run around like a chicken with it's head cut off and straighten up first, or else, well you have been warned.
